"12.17.24" is the first in a forthcoming series of winter swimming prints. While many extoll the health benefits of a cold plunge, the part I love is how it makes me feel a part of the landscape. Bringing together community, landscape, and the understated beauty of coastal winters, this 5-layer reduction woodblock print is based on a December swim at Barney's Joy Beach. Closed edition of 10 on mulberry and kitikata natural papers.

4" x 6" woodblock print on 7.5" x 9.5" paper. All prints are made with archival grade Cranfield oil-based inks. For best preservation of color, frame using UV (museum quality) glass.
Reduction prints involve the carving away of wood as each subsequent layer is printed. This means that once completed, the block is destroyed and may not be printed again. For this reason, I refer to the edition as 'closed' and once prints are sold, no additional prints will be made. Although each print in the edition was made using the exact same process and materials, there is slight variation between prints due to the handmade nature of registering and printing.
Prints will be shipped unless local pickup is specified. They will be protected by a cardboard backing and cellophane sleeve in a padded envelope and a tracking number will be provided. Final shipping costs will be calculated following purchase and invoiced separately.
